Module 10 - Developmental Yoga

Just as we change throughout life physically, mentally, and emotionally, the practice and application of yoga principles also change.  In this weekend we will look at the adaptations of yoga for different ages as well has how to make yoga accessible for all.  We will look at developmental psychology through the kosha model to selectively use the tools and techniques of yoga.  This weekend will be full of stories as we enjoy the rich mythological roots of yoga. We will learn principles and practices for  chair yoga and yoga in education.

Learn;

• Age appropriate movements in yoga classes
• Be creative with drawing in stories and deeper meaning into your practice
• Introduction to Chair Yoga and Yoga for Kids
• Know the story behind the pose connecting ancient and contemporary practice
• Feel confident teaching special populations and individual clients
• Chant for peace with “Lokah Samastah”
• Get a little bit silly with Lion’s Breath, Laughing Breath and more
• Know what Yantra Yoga is an how to use it with special populations
• Understand the ethical commitments and scope of practice of yoga
• Yoga Poses Taught and their key concepts - Eagle, Cowfaced pose, Easy Seat, Hanuman Splits, Cobra and more!
