IN EACH MODULE YOU WILL LEARN:
As they are taught in the Yoga Sutra-s of Patañjali, these terms build the philosophical basis for the weekend and tie together concepts within yogic techniques learned.
Each weekend will introduce within the chronological teachings passed down through the rich history of yoga from early Vedanta to the current day. Students will become familiarized with major movements in thinking and moving throughout yoga’s varied history.
Based on exercise science, each weekend will focus on movement principles to inform the use of asana, kriya, and class design for safer and more adaptable yoga practice.
Topics relative to the practice of yoga and a healthy lifestyle. Introductory overview of such topics offer a foundation for deeper exploration and awareness of how structures of the physical body are benefited through yogic practice.
As known through the traditional science of yoga will be presented with simplified instructions and guidelines for practice and teaching as well as information regarding appropriate preparation and development for the practice.
Presented for the developing practitioner, guiding principles will be outlined for individuals to develop an individually meaningful personal practice and ability to share the techniques with understanding of benefits of the practice.
From vedic, upanishad, sutra, and yogic tradition will be presented in Sanskrt, Devanagari, English poetic translation, and key terms explained. Recordings will be made available after the weekend module of the specific pronunciation and tonal variations for individual continued practice.
For each module are listed. Aspiring registered yoga teachers will be required to read either on their own or in book club format 3 full suggested texts before receiving their certificate.
Overviews and templates will be included in each module to help the practitioner develop the technical aspects of sharing yoga with others as well as practicing yoga as intentional and specific.
For each module is given for accountability assistance in incorporating skills learned into a personal practice. Homework is not meant to ‘test’ knowledge or affirm any ‘correct’ way of thinking, rather homework is for the practitioner to continue the process of exploration of how principles and techniques are felt as true through their own practice. For aspiring registered yoga teachers homework is required and must be remitted to the lead trainers with the option to receive feedback and continued guidance toward deeper, meaningful, personal practice.
