Module 8: Therapeutic Yoga

In our over stimulated, high stress, low rest society we all need a way to settle our nervous system and calm our souls.  From ancient times to recent medical research, yoga has been a modality of repair for the wounded.  This weekend we will dive deep into the therapeutic application of yogic techniques for wellness, recovery, and healing.  We will explore somatic and therapeutic movement within a yogic context for soothing the nervous system and rebalancing the endocrine system.  This training emphasizes trauma informed teaching and creation of safe environments for all to feel a little more peace in their life.  Learn meditation techniques and simple breathing that will help you and others to come back to the present moment and feel whole again.

Learn:

• How to “move to soothe”
• Develop trauma informed language and teaching techniques
• Find the wholeness within the wounded through applying the Kosha model
• Hone your ability to tune in and create safer space in the world and yoga class
• Introduction to the interwoven complexities of the Endocrine System
• Chant to remember you are always whole with ‘Purnamidam’’
• Re-define “self-care” practices
• Hack the nervous system with simple breathing techniques
• Learn the meaning behind “Om”
• Yoga Poses Taught and their key concepts - Happy Baby pose, inversions, Fish, Rabbit, Headstand, Tree Pose and many more!
