About the event
Within yoga philosophy and tradition, there has been a lot of discussion of the union of opposites. In the tradition of Hatha Yoga the dualistic natures of solar and lunar energies have been celebrated all while maintaining a balanced practice. In the modern movement principles, the sagittal plane likewise divides the body into right and left sides. In this weekend module we will explore deeper how awareness of opposing forces paradoxically creates a more stable practice. We will discuss how the vayus created constant motion in form and when it is helpful to block that flow or shift the direction through the engagement of bandhas. Using a traditional lens of Pradipaksha Bhavana - cultivating the opposite- we will look at ways of balancing the digestive system finding stability within a complete yoga practice.
